The eight criteria
- 1) Full Arabic interface and receipt, with English available if you need it.
- 2) Cashier speed: how many taps per invoice, and does it work well on a tablet and touch screen?
- 3) It keeps working when the internet or the server is unreachable, then syncs without duplicating invoices.
- 4) Live stock per branch and warehouse, with stock counts and transfers.
- 5) Accounting and sales tax linked to every sale automatically.
- 6) JoFotara: does it send your invoices to the Jordanian national e-invoicing system from the cashier?
- 7) Branches, permissions, shifts and cash control.
- 8) Hardware: receipt printer, cash drawer, barcode scanner, kitchen printer, customer display, and a barcode label scale if you sell by weight.
Cloud or desktop?
A cloud POS gives you multiple branches, reports from your phone and automatic updates without a server in the shop. The key question is what happens when the connection is lost. With Vera Tech the cashier keeps selling, stores invoices on the device and sends them automatically when the connection returns, including open restaurant tickets.
Questions to ask any vendor
- Is there a free trial, and does it need a payment card?
- What is the full first-year cost: subscription, hardware and training?
- Can I export my data if I change my mind?
- Who supports me, at what hours and in which language?
- Does it work with the hardware I am about to buy?
